What is a Therapist?
A therapist is a trained mental health professional who provides counseling and treatment to individuals struggling with mental health disorders or addiction. Therapists use various therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), to help clients understand and manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Therapy sessions can be conducted individually, in groups, or with families, depending on the individual’s needs.
In addiction recovery, therapists play a key role in helping individuals identify the root causes of their substance use, develop coping strategies, and build resilience to prevent relapse. Therapists are also essential in managing co-occurring mental health conditions, such as anxiety or depression.
